UWA Women’s Tennis Advances in GSC Play

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The University of West Alabama women's tennis team defeated Alabama-Huntsville, 5-0, in the quarterfinal round of the Gulf South Conference Tennis Championships Saturday morning at Lagoon Park.
 
The victory gives West Alabama a 19-9 record going into the semi-final match against top-seeded and ninth-ranked West Florida at 2:30 p.m.
 
The Tigers swept doubles play before Helga Jeske and Shannon McEvoy won No. 2 and 6 singles, respectively, to put the match away against the Lady Chargers.

No. 6 Singles—Shannon McEvoy, UWA def. Kasi McDonald, UAH, 6-1, 6-0
