Weedon, a native of Selma, played baseball at UWA from 1969-71. He had a career record of 24-4 and a career ERA of 1.33 with 263 strikeouts in only 216 innings. His career ERA and strikeouts are both school records, as well as a season ERA of 0.92 in 1970 and 115 strikeouts in 1969. His 24 career wins is third highest in school history. He helped lead the Tigers to the 1970 World Series and was All-Alabama Collegiate Conference in 1969 and 1970 and Honorable-Mention All-American in 1970. Weedon had to give up the game his senior year because of an arm injury. He is the retired Superintendent of Education of Autauga County in Alabama and currently resides in Selma
