June Seals graduated from UWA (then Livingston University) in 1972 and was a cheerleader for the Tigers. She went into coaching as a career and won one women’s basketball state championship at Clarke County High School in Grove Hill, Ala. as well as twelve state track and field championships.
She coached at Bob Jones High School in Huntsville, Ala. from 1993-1998 and then moved to Sparkman High School, also in Huntsville, in 2001. She won 6A state championships in women’s basketball in 2002, 2003 and 2007. She won state coach of the year five times in basketball and one time in track and field.
The Winfield, Ala., native has a career record 732-148 in basketball and 286-45 in track and field. She is a member of the Alabama High School Coaches’ Hall of Fame and once had a 50-game winning streak.
