Kyle Caldwell was a two-time Gulf South Conference offensive player of the year (2013, 2014) as Tiger quarterback, as well as the 2011 GSC offensive freshman of the year. An All-American, All-Region and All-GSC performer, Caldwell is the only player in West Alabama football history to account for more than 9,000 total yards. He represented UWA on the Harlon Hill Trophy national ballot while finishing his UWA career as the school's all-time leader in total offense (9,201), yards passing (7,731), touchdown passes (72) and total touchdowns (86). His 28 touchdown passes in 2013 is UWA single-season record. In addition Caldwell was a GSC Top Ten Honoree and was voted to both the UWA and Gulf South Conference Football Teams of the Decade.
