Steve Davis, a native of Aliceville, Ala., played football for West Alabama from 1970-74. Davis was a member of the 1971 NAIA National Championship team and was an All-GSC selection in 1973. Davis served as an assistant coach at UWA in 1975 and 1976. Davis went on to be the defensive coordinator at East Mississippi Junior College from 1977-79, and was the secondary coach at North Alabama from 1980-83. Davis came back to UWA as the defensive coordinator from 1985 to 1986. He also served as the defensive secondary coach at the University of Southern Mississippi and at Louisiana State University.
