2010 AFCA Division II Coaches' Top 25 Poll - Week 1
WACO, Texas – Fresh off a 37-7 season opening on Saturday, the University of West Alabama football team moved to No. 10 in the latest AFCA Division II Coaches' Top 25 Poll. UWA (1-0) was ranked 12th in the preseason poll.
The top two spots remained the same after the first week of the season. Northwest Missouri State held onto the top spot with Grand Valley State remaining at No. 2. The University of Minnesota in Duluth moved to No. 3, jumping idle GSC foe North Alabama, who fell to No. 4. California University (Pa.) rounds out the top five.
Delta State rounds out the GSC contingent in the top 25 as the Statesmen moved two spots to No. 22. Valdosta State and Henderson State each received votes.
West Alabama returns to action on Thursday, Sept. 2 as the Tigers travel to the University of Arkansas at Monticello. Kickoff is slated for 7:05 p.m. in Cotton Boll Stadium. The non-conference contest is the first of UWA's four games on the GSC-TV Game of the Week schedule.
