Deon Lacey records his first-ever laurel after spearheading UWA's defense in win. The junior accounted for five total tackles including two solo stops and one tackle for a loss of four yards. He made his biggest impact in pass coverage, nabbing two interceptions for 26 yards. Both of the Brighton, Ala. native's interceptions came inside the Tigers' 15-yard line halting Tech drives. His first came at 3:08 in the second quarter, while he grabbed his second INT on the 10-yard line at 9:12 in the third frame. Lacey becomes the second Tiger to receive player of the week accolades this season as junior quarterback Gary Johnston nabbed Offensive Player of the Week honors on Sept. 12 for his accomplishments against Tarleton State.
