UWA women’s cross country runner Polina Babkina has named the University of West Alabama Student Athlete of the Week for her performance last weekend in the Gulf Coast Stampede. In that event, Babkina posted a school-record time with an 18:33.20 in the women’s 5k, giving her the best finish of anyone in the Gulf South Conference. She helped her team to a fourth-place finish in the run, placing sixth out of 122 runners.
