Polina Babkina concluded a successful run at the 2011 Gulf South Conference Championships this past weekend, becoming UWA’s first conference champion. Babkina ran a 19:07.32 time in the women’s 5k – good enough for a first-place overall finish. Her time helped guide her team to a third-place overall finish in the event, as the Tigers had four runners finish in the top-20.
