In the first weekend of the season, newcomer Stephanie Shoup proved to be the anchor of stability in the Tiger lineup. The Oviedo, Fla., native hit .429 at the Columbus State hosted Hughston Sports Clinic Classic. The junior walked four times and posted a team-best on-base percentage of .636. In Saturday’s games, Shoup collected three hits along with three walks. She was 2-for-2 with a run scored in the victory over Augusta State, giving the Red and White its first win of the season.
