Samuels was named Tuesday as this week's Gulf South Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week.
The senior turned in a solid week, averaging 21.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 5.0 steals and 4.5 assists in 38.0 minutes of action. The Hartford, Conn. native netted a game-high 25 points and added six boards, five assists and five steals in 38 minutes of a 73-68 setback versus Shorter on Thursday night.
He notched his fourth double-double of the season versus No. 11 Alabama-Huntsville in Saturday's 57-54 loss, scoring 17 points and grabbing a game-high 10 rebounds along with five steals in 38 minutes.
