West Alabama middle distance runner Armando Fierro posted stellar finishes for the Tigers, winning the men’s 1,500 meters and finishing fifth in the 800 meters at the Birmingham Southern Invitational at Panther Stadium last Saturday. A freshman from Port Isabel, Texas, Fierro ran a 4:01.88 to win the 1,500 meters. He posted a 1:57.65 for his top five finish in the 800.
