West Alabama men's soccer overcame a defensive first half stalemate and claimed two goals by junior Evan Beutler in the second half to knockoff Mississippi College 2-1 on Friday.   

 West Alabama's (1-0) first goal of the season came on a pass from junior Traye Torrence in the 53'. Junior Vitor Gazzaassisted on Buetler's second goal in the 69'.  

"I just concentrated on taking more shots in the second half," said Beutler. "When I finally got a cross I was able to get a touch on it, and it just went from there. The second goal was off a pass that was just placed in front of me."
