Designated hitter Mitch Holgate has been selected by league coaches at the 2014 Gulf South Conference Player of the Year. Holgate is one of four Tigers to earn All-GSC honors.

The 2013 GSC Freshman of the Year, Holgate capped his sophomore season with 2014 Player of the Year honors by hitting .320 with eight homeruns, 12 doubles, four triples and 37 RBI. He posted a .571 slugging percentage and stole 10 bases.
