LIVINGSTON, Ala. – Fresh off the squad's fourth victory of the season, the University of West Alabama women's soccer team entertains Alabama State Wednesday night at Tiger Stadium. Game time is slated for 7 p.m.
The Tigers enter Wednesday's contest following a 4-1 victory against LaGrange College on Sunday. In that game,
Natalie Perry led the team with two goals, one shy of a hat trick. In an impressive outing, Perry also picked up an assist on teammate
Jade Newton's goal.
For the season, freshman
Nicki Gears continues to lead the squad with 17 shots on goal and a .586 SOG percentage.
Nicola Gibson, who scored the first two goals in UWA history earlier this season, leads the team with 905 minutes played to add to her eight shots on goal.
Meanwhile, goalkeeper
Jess Martin has recorded 44 saves this year, including two shut-out performances through 10 games.
Alabama State enters the game against the Tigers having just one win on the year. The Hornets are 1-11 so far this season with the team's lone victory coming against Huntington College on Sept. 1.
Following Wednesday night's affair, UWA travels to Cleveland, Miss., to take on Delta State Saturday at 1 p.m.
