CARROLLTON, Ga. – Najat Amerg had a goal and an assist as the University of West Alabama women's soccer team closed out its regular season with a 2-0 Gulf South Conference victory over West Georgia on Sunday.

The win leaves the Tigers to 7-8-3 overall, 5-3-1 in the GSC. West Georgia dipped to 5-10-3 and 2-5-2. UWA begins play in the GSC Tournament as the #4 seed and will play Alabama-Huntsville Thursday at 7 p.m. in Pensacola, Fla.

Amerg scored her goal at 23:43 from the middle of the 18 with an assist from Vicky Petrova and then assisted Katy Morris at 36:09. The goal was Amerg's third of the season and the assist her second. Morris' goal was a back and forth shot from the left of the keeper and was her fourth. Petrova's assist was her fifth.

UWA goal keeper Jess Martin had three saves in the shutout and improved to 7-9-1.
