CARROLLTON, Ga. – Najat Amerg had a goal and an assist as the University of West Alabama women's soccer team closed out its regular season with a 2-0 Gulf South Conference victory over West Georgia on Sunday.
The win leaves the Tigers to 7-8-3 overall, 5-3-1 in the GSC. West Georgia dipped to 5-10-3 and 2-5-2. UWA begins play in the GSC Tournament as the #4 seed and will play Alabama-Huntsville Thursday at 7 p.m. in Pensacola, Fla.
Amerg scored her goal at 23:43 from the middle of the 18 with an assist from
Vicky Petrova and then assisted
Katy Morris at 36:09. The goal was Amerg's third of the season and the assist her second. Morris' goal was a back and forth shot from the left of the keeper and was her fourth. Petrova's assist was her fifth.
