ORLANDO, Fla. – The University of West Alabama men's tennis team took a 7-2 triumph over the University of Puerto Rico Saturday as the Tiger women fell to Nova Southeastern, 9-0, during tennis action in the Sunshine State.
 
The UWA men's team powered over Puerto Rico after claiming every singles court on the day. 
Nestor Vargas took a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 1 followed by an 
Anton Ivanov 6-2, 5-7 (8) triumph at the second position.
 
Not to be outdone, 
Adam Drysdale claimed a 6-2, 6-0 win at No.3, while Manuel Grossman, 
Kike Ruiz and 
Honorio Fernandez  rounded out the day with three straight-set wins at the fourth, fifth and sixth positions.
 
The UWA women suffered through a tough outing as the squad fell to Nova Southeastern, 9-0. The Tigers were defeated soundly at every position, losing in straight sets at each court.
The two teams now play Barry on Tuesday in Miami, Fla., before facing off with Tampa next Friday.
