Box Score

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Christian Brothers' Alex Bickenbach posted two goals, including the game-winner in the final 20 seconds of double-overtime to defeat West Alabama women's soccer 2-1 in Gulf South Conference action on Sunday.

"It was an extremely tough result to take," said UWA head women's soccer coach Graeme Orr. "Both teams played very physical and with great desire. I think on another day we might have just edged it. We will learn and take positives away from today and be ready for Friday."

It was the third double-overtime loss for West Alabama this season who drop to 10-6 on the season; 5-4 in the GSC. It is the fourth match to go into extra minutes for Christian Brothers this season. They remain unbeaten in overtime and improve to 11-3-2 overall; 5-3-1 in conference.

Bickenbach's final goal came off of a pass from Carly Downing who intercepted an UWA goal kick. Bickenbach has five goals on the year.

UWA striker Nicki Gears gave the Tigers the first lead with a goal in the 14th minute off of a pass from Kirsten Reily. Gears leads the conference with 12 goals this season.
