UWA Men’s Tennis Defeats Indianapolis, Women Lose

GULF SHORES, Ala. – The University of West Alabama men's tennis team swept all six singles matches on the way to an 8-1 victory over Indianapolis Saturday. The UWA women lost to Indianapolis, 3-6.
 
Both West Alabama teams now have 10-2 records. The Indianapolis men fell to 2-1 and the Greyhound women to 2-3.
 
The UWA men's team is host to Western Kentucky on Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Vaughn Tennis Complex. The Tiger women host Tuskegee on Friday at 2 p.m.
 
Nestor Vargas, Anton Ivanov, Honorio Fernandez, Kike Ruiz, Adam Drysdale and Simon Bardell all claimed men's singles victories. Drysdale and Ivanov, as well as Vargas and Ruiz won their doubles matches.
 
Helga Jeske and Dasha Popova were women's singles winners. Jeske and Shannon McEvoy were the Tigers' only doubles winners on the women's side.
