BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – University of West Alabama Women's Soccer player
Nina Coleman was named the Gulf South Conference Freshman of the Week on Tuesday by the league office.
Coleman contributed to every goal in the Tiger's 3-0 win over Montevallo on Wednesday. The Woodland Hills, Calif., native tallied two goals and assisted on the game-winner. Coleman is the second UWA freshman to earn the honor this season.
West Alabama women's soccer has only two matches remaining in its regular season, beginning with West Georgia Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. (C.S.T.) in Carrollton, Ga. The season will then conclude against Valdosta State on Sunday at 1 p.m. in Tiger Stadium.
UWA has already clinched a spot in the GSC tournament, currently as the third seed. Valdosta State is first at 8-1-1 in the conference. No. 8 West Georgia, 3-6-1, is still battling for a place in the post season tournament.
