UWA Tennis Has Productive Trip to Memphis

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of West Alabama women's tennis team won a pair of matches to extend its winning streak to five and the UWA men won two of three as the Tigers completed a combined five-match swing through Memphis on Sunday.
 
The UWA women's team scored resounding victories over Rhodes College and Christian Brothers, beating the Lynx 9-0 and the Lady Bucs 8-1, respectively. The two wins improves UWA's women to 9-2 overall and 5-1 in Gulf South Conference play.
 
The Tiger men's team defeated Rhodes and CBU by scores of 6-3 and 8-1, respectively, but lost to Kalamazoo College, 5-4. The UWA men are now 8-5 overall and 3-3 in GSC play.
 
All of the matches were played at Rhodes' Dunavant Tennis Complex.
 
The Tiger women return to action with a home match Thursday at the Vaughan Tennis Center at 1 p.m. The men travel to NCAA Division I opponent Jackson State on Sunday.
