Issy Foster's season-high 10-save performance was not enough for West Alabama women's soccer as Sunshine State Conference-foe Barry University defeated UWA 5-2 at the VSU Soccer Complex on Tuesday.
The Tigers fall to 5-3 on the season while the Buccaneers improve to 4-2-1 overall.
Amanda Traynor put Barry ahead 1-0 in the 16
th minute, netting her first goal of the year off of her own blocked shot.
Carissa Sanchez launched a corner kick into the penalty area, connecting with Linnea Kogsta who punched in the score to give the Buccaneers a 2-0 advantage in the 39
th minute.
Barry grabbed a 3-0 lead just before the half after Ingrid Lian scored off an unsecured blocked shot in the 43
rd minute. Hanna Durocher picked up an assist on the goal.

The Tigers inched closer just one minute later as a Buccaneer own goal pulled UWA within one score to trail 3-2 in the 72
nd minute.
Barry retook a two-score advantage in the 73
rd minute on a set piece. Sanchez grabbed her second assist of the match after her corner kick allowed Katie Turner to put a header past the keeper.
Sofia de la Puente caught West Alabama off guard, putting a 40-yard shot into the net in the 79
th minute to give the Buccaneers a final 5-2 lead.
Paula Forero (4-2-1) made four saves on eight shots faced to earn the win. Foster (5-3) posted 10 saves while facing 22 total shots in the loss.
The Tigers will return home to face off against Mississippi College in Gulf South Conference action on Friday. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m.
