Tigers Win Third Straight in Men’s Tennis

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – West Alabama won all three doubles points on the way to a 5-3 men's college tennis victory over Shorter Saturday at the Vaughan Tennis Complex.

The win was the third consecutive for the Tigers, who improved to 4-3 overall and 2-0 in Gulf South Conference matches. Shorter dropped to 2-4 and 0-1.

Shorter won singles 1, 2 and 3 before Nicolai Jochamowitz and Anwesh Roy defeated Mason Barnette and Dylan Wood, respectively, at No. 4 and 5 singles. Singles 6 was not scheduled due to an incomplete lineup.

Julius Kaverinen and Andrii Stratiienko won 9-8 (5) at No. 1 doubles, Anton Lof and Jochamowitz won at No. 2 doubles 8-4, while Christopher Wood and Roy won No. 3 by default.
