Tiger Men Lose to No. 16 Cameron, 6-3

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – Nationally ranked Cameron University picked up its first win on a four-match road swing through the South by defeating West Alabama, 6-3, Sunday at the Vaughan Tennis Complex.

The win over UWA comes on the heels of a loss at North Alabama on Saturday. The 16^th-ranked Aggies (7-6) continue the swing through the South with stops at Spring Hill and West Florida over the next three days.

"The men battled in a tough match against a nationally ranked team," UWA coach Jeff Beaman said. "Cameron is a good tennis team."

West Alabama managed singles wins from Julius Kaverinen over Vinicius Santos (7-6, 7-5) at No. 1 and from Anton Lof over Andres Velasco (7-5, 6-3) at No. 6. The Tigers managed one win in the three doubles matches.

West Alabama begins a 10-match road swing at Columbus (Ga.) State on Wednesday. Cameron visits Spring Hill Tuesday.
