Tiger Men’s Tennis Falls at West Florida

PENSACOLA, Fla. – The ninth-ranked West Florida men's tennis team had little trouble with a shorthanded West Alabama team on Saturday, defeating the Tigers 9-0 at the Ralph "Skeeter" Carson Tennis Complex.

West Florida, who is ranked No. 1 in the NCAA South Region, improved to 13-1 overall, 5-0 in Gulf South Conference play. Ranked 10^th in the region, West Alabama is 7-7 and 4-2.

"The UWF men have a great team and we gave it what we had," UA coach Jeff Beaman said. "We will be shorthanded on bodies again tomorrow but you only need four to play.

"If you can play, you can win," Beaman said. "I want to see where we are from a mental toughness standpoint when we step on the court tomorrow."

The Tigers stay in Pensacola to play Georgia College at 11 a.m. Sunday.
