No. 7 Valdosta State Takes Care of UWA Men 5-1

PENSACOLA, Fla. – With the threat of inclement weather looming, No. 7 Valdosta State handed West Alabama a 5-1 defeat Saturday in Gulf South Conference men's tennis.

The victory was the fifth straight for Valdosta State, improving the Blazers to 9-4 overall and 4-1 in conference play. West Alabama dipped to 7-10 and 4-3 with its fourth consecutive loss.

Henrik Sinkko recorded UWA's lone win at No. 5 singles, defeating Valentin Mounoto 5-7, 6-4, 6-4. With bad weather threatening, doubles matches were not played.

West Alabama remains in Pensacola to face Florida Tech Sunday at 9 a.m.
