Second Half Leads Lee to Victory over UWA

LIVINGSTON, Ala.– Over 70 minutes of game action passed before any scoring happened, but when it did the Lee Lady Flames surged to a 3-0 victory over the West Alabama Tigers Sunday afternoon in Gulf South Conference Women's Soccer action in Tiger Stadium.
 
UWA falls to 10-5-1 overall and 8-4-0 in the GSC. Lee improves to 10-5-1 and 7-4-0 in the conference.
 
Avery Engles scored the first goal of the contest at the 71:05 mark. Her older sister, Riley Engles, then scored at the 76:31 mark. Kate Carney scored the final goal of the game at the 88:56 mark to give Lee the 3-0 final advantage.
 
The Lady Flames outshot UWA 25-17 with 19 being on goal compared to six being on goal for the Tigers.
 
Jenni Aarniva finished the game with 16 saves. 
 
West Alabama returns to action Thursday night and will celebrate Senior Night as Alabama-Huntsville comes to town to wrap the regular season in Tiger Stadium. The match is scheduled for a 5:30 p.m. start time in Livingston, Alabama.
