Women’s Soccer Falls in GSC Semifinals against UWF

MONTGOMERY, Ala.– The postseason run for the West Alabama Women's Soccer team concluded as the 4th seeded Tigers fell to the West Florida Lady Argonauts in the semifinals of the Gulf South Conference Championship Tournament Friday afternoon at the Emory Folmar YMCA Soccer Complex.
 
UWA will finish the season 12-6-1 overall while the Lady Argos improve to 19-0-0 in their season.
 
The Tigers took 15 shots during the contest with five being shots on goal, but the high powered UWF attack took 25 shots with 10 SOGs.
 
Both West Florida goals came in the first half with Deneisha Blackwood scoring at the 15:38 mark and Elizabeth Vickers scoring at the 33:19 mark for the 2-0 final margin.
 
Jenni Aarniva finished the contest with eight saves.
