MIDLOTHIAN, Texas – With the temperature struggling to reach 30 degrees, the University of West Alabama men's tennis team made short work of Ouachita Baptist in a neutral site match played Sunday at Frank Seale Courts, defeating OBU, 5-0.

West Alabama improved to 2-1. Ouachita Baptist dropped to 1-3.

The Tigers swept the three doubles points before Julius Kaverinen and Linus Holthey wasted little time taking straight set victories at singles No. 2 and 4 to end the match. All other singles play was halted when Kaverinen and Holthey clinched their wins.

Kaverinen defeated Dan Kaplun 6-2, 6-2. Holthey downed Braydon Montgomery 6-4, 6-2.

Kaverinen and Holthey defeated Lennart Lonneman and Kaplun, 8-3, at No. 1 doubles. Andrii Stratiienko and Henrik Sinkko beat Nair Adi and Montgomery, 8-5, at No. 2, while Honorio Fernandez and Anton Lof were 8-4 winners over Carlos Solorzano and Casper Room at No. 3 doubles.

The Tigers remain on the road, visiting Tuskegee on Wednesday. First serve is set for 1 p.m.
