Tigers Lose Series Finale to #10 UNA

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The West Alabama Tigers dropped the final game of the Gulf South Conference match up against the North Alabama Lions, 4-0.

Nora Keehn suffered the loss, moving to 2-4. The Tigers fall to 14-22 overall and 8-13 in the GSC. The Lions advance to 31-4 overall, and 18-2, leading the GSC.

Carleigh Mills relieved Keehn after her two innings of work. Mills finished out the game, allowing a single run and three hits.

UWA collected four hits and committed two errors. The two errors, along with ten UNA hits, allowed a run in the first and sixth innings, and two runs in the third inning. The four Tiger hits came from four separate players, including Ashley Smart, Nicole Buccieri, Chelsea Lobitos, and a double from Savannah Smathers.

The Tigers could not rally a comeback in the bottom of the seventh after a walk to both Lobitos and Haylie Best.

The University of West Alabama Tigers will be back in action on Wednesday against the Spring Hill Badgers and again on Saturday at the University of Alabama-Huntsville for a double header at 2 and 4 p.m.
