UWA Softball Falls in Season Finale to Montevallo

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – Despite the furious amount of offense from both teams, the West Alabama Tigers drop the final game of the Gulf South Conference series and regular season against the Montevallo Falcons 17-8 Sunday afternoon.
 
The high-scoring matchup included 28 total hits, including 17 from Montevallo and 11 from West Alabama.
 
UWA used all five pitchers in the game. Andrea Edmonds started for the Tigers and allowed four runs on five hits in her 2.1 innings. Nora Keehn pitched .2 innings and allowed four runs on four hits. Carleigh Mills pitched five runs on five hits and pitched 3.0 innings. Kamree Lay pitched a third of an inning and allowed no runs on no hits. Laura Turchiano pitched .2 innings and allowed four runs on three hits.
 
Nora Keehn takes the loss and moves to 5-8.
 
The Tigers collected two home runs, one from Allison Craft (5) and one from Nicole Buccieri (6). Kendall Johnson hit two doubles and senior Bree Thompson also hit a double.
 
The teams combined for five errors, including two for Montevallo and three for West Alabama.
 
UWA finishes the season 20-30 overall and 12-21 in the GSC.
