West Alabama
The Tigers are 8-11 overall and 5-7 in Gulf South Conference play after losing to UWF and defeating Montevallo last Thursday and Saturday, respectively at Pruitt Hall Gym in Livingston.
 
West Florida
The Argonauts are 15-4 overall, 9-3 in GSC play. UWF is riding a five-game winning streak and 8-1 at home. UWF defeated UWA, 76-56, in Livingston last Thursday.
 
Montevallo
The Lady Falcons are 10-9 overall, 6-5 in league play, with a road game at Valdosta State on Thursday. Montevallo has lost two straight games and three of its last four.
 
ThreePeat
For the third consecutive week Bria Dent has earned GSC women's basketball Freshman of the Week for her performances in two games last week. In games against West Florida and Montevallo Dent averaged 31 minutes, 14.5 points and 8.0 rebounds. She shot 50 percent from the field (11-for-22) and 67 percent (4-for-6) from the free throw line against the Argonauts and Lady Falcons.
 
Stepping Up
Due to Tiger injuries over the last six games forcing an increase in Bria Dent's playing time, she has answered the bell by averaging 35 minutes played, 15.0 points and 10.8 rebounds. Over the last six games she has shot 47 percent (32-of-68) from the floor, 50 percent (5-of-10) from three-point range and 68 percent (21-of-31) from the free throw line.
 
Freshman and Player of Week in Thursday's Game
Not only will Bria Dent, this week's GSC freshman of the week, be suiting up for UWA in Pensacola on Thursday, the league's co-player of the week, UWF's Halee Nieman, will be pitted against the Tigers. Nieman scored 27 points and grabbed nine rebounds against West Alabama last Thursday.
 
Series vs. West Florida
This is the 30th game in the series between West Alabama and West Florida. The Argonauts hold an 18-11 advantage.
 
Series vs. Montevallo
This is the 52nd game in the series between West Alabama and Montevallo. The Tigers own a 32-19 lead.
 
UWA Coach Rusty Cram
Rusty Cram is 49-80 in his fifth season at West Alabama, 316-343 as a collegiate head coach, including stops at Georgia Southern and Belhaven.
 
West Florida Coach Stephanie Yelton
Stephanie Yeldon is 123-74 in her seventh season as head coach at West Florida, 180-158 in her 12th year as a collegiate head coach.
 
Montevallo Coach Gary Van Atta
Gary Van Atta is 185-103 in his second stint as the head coach at Montevallo. He is the all-time winningest coach at UM and is a member of the Falcons Hall of Fame. He is three years into his second tenure at UM, his 10th overall. He is 643-397 in his 28th year as a collegiate head coach, including additional stops at Tennessee-Martin and Trevecca Nazarene.
 
Regional Ranking
West Florida is rankled No. 4 in this week's NCAA Division II South Region rankings. Florida Southern, Union and Lee are the top three teams in the region.
 
In the GSC Standings
West Florida is currently third in the GSC standings with a 9-3 league record, 15-4 overall. Montevallo is in a three-way tie for sixth at 6-5 and 10-9. West Alabama is ninth at 5-7 and 8-11.

Thursday's game at West Florida pits West Alabama against the GSC team leaders in seven statistical categories.
