Tiger Men Picked Fifth in Preseason XC Poll

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – West Alabama head cross country coach Sterling Martin led the West Alabama men's cross country team to a fifth-place finish in the Gulf South Conference last season and league coaches have picked the Tigers to finish in that same spot in 2019.

GSC head coaches voted in this poll. Teams received 11 points for a first place vote, 10 for a second place vote, etc. The head coaches were not allowed to vote for their own teams. The number of first place votes are listed in parenthesis on the preseason poll below.

Defending champion Lee is picked to repeat, followed by Alabama Huntsville, Mississippi College, Montevallo and UWA rounding out the preseason top five.

West Alabama opens the 2019 season on Sept. 7 at the Falcon Invitational hosted by the University of Montevallo.
