Tigers Beat Ouachita Baptist, 4-2

MIDLOTHIAN, Texas – The West Alabama men's tennis team defeated Ouachita Baptist, 4-2, Sunday in a match that had to be moved indoors due to inclement weather.

The win improved the 16^th ranked Tigers to 3-1 and gave UWA two victories in three matches on the Texas road trip.

"Rain forced us inside, but this was another really tough match against a very good team," UWA head coach Jeff Beaman said. "This is another match that could have gone either way."

West Alabama took the doubles point when Christopher Bulus and Ilari Vesanen took a 6-4 win at No. 1 and Patricio Nieto Corral and Ilia Dehoduik won 6-3 at No. 3.

Bulus, Dehoduik and Nieto Corral were all winners in singles to clinch the match for West Alabama. Bulus was a 6-2, 4-6, 6-1 winner at No. 2, while Dehoduik won 6-2, 6-2 at No. 3. Nieto Corral was a 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 victor at No. 4.

The Tigers play at home for the first time this spring when UT-Tyler visits the Vaughan Tennis Complex Thursday. Both the men and women will play the Patriots with first serve at 2 p.m.
