WEST ALABAMA
The Tigers are now 5-3 on the season and 4-3 in the Gulf South Conference after picking up two road wins. The first came last Saturday against Montevallo in a non-conference contest, because the Falcons are in the East Division, 74-65. UWA followed that performance with victory in a defensive slugfest against West Division foe Mississippi College and came away with a 60-54 win. Bria Dent led in scoring both games going for 27 points against Montevallo and 17 points against MC. The two games moved UWA to 2-0 on the road.

UNION
The Lady Bulldogs are 8-2 overall as well as in GSC play. Union is coming off two wins over MC last weekend in Jackson, Tennessee with an 81-62 victory in first game while the second game went the way of the Lady Bulldogs as well, 73-57. The team is currently on a five-game winning streak and is sporting a 5-1 record at home.

LOOKIN' REAL FAMILIAR
These teams have met twice already this season. In fact, it was just two weeks ago Union made the trip to Livingston, Alabama on Jan. 15 and Jan. 16 for a two-game sweep over the Tigers. The Lady Bulldogs won the first game, 87-68, and the second contest, 88-55. Shanique Lucas was GSC West Division Player of the Week and Sally Howell was named GSC West Division Freshman of the Week for their efforts that weekend.

ON TARGET
When it comes to scoring efficiency, Union and UWA are ahead of the class. The Lady Bulldogs are first in field goals at 47.1 percent and the Tigers are second at 45.6 percent. However, Union is second in scoring at 73.7 points each time out while West Alabama is 8th at 62.3 points per game.

TOUGH COMEPETITION
Union's Jaelencia Williams enters the weekend as the reigning GSC West Division after averaging 21 points, eight rebounds, three blocks, and two assists per game.

IN THE POLLS
UWA is back in the D2SIDA South Regional Poll at sixth after only receiving votes last week. Union is second in the poll.

UP NEXT
West Alabama will stay on the road and face the University of Alabama in Huntsville Chargers in Huntsville, Alabama for a GSC Series on Feb. 5 at 6 p.m. and Feb. 6 at 3 p.m. in Spragins Hall. Links to video and live stats will be available on uwaathletics.com.
