Tigers Return Home to Host AUM and Montevallo

LIVINGSTON, Ala. - West Alabama women's soccer returns home to host two Gulf South Conference matches this weekend. 

The Tigers host Auburn Montgomery Friday, Oct. 15 at 5 p.m. UWA will then have a quick turnaround and battle Montevallo on Sunday, Oct. 17. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at Tiger Stadium. 

Heading into the weekend, the Tigers are 6-2-1 overall and 4-1 after defeating Christian Brothers on October 8 and Union on October 10. 

Leading the Tigers' offense is freshman Dana Cruz with five goals and one assist for 11 points. The Fort Walton Beach, Florida native has taken 15 shots, 10 bring on target and has had three game-winners. 

Seniors Megan Ongteco and Anele Komani also contribute to UWA's offensive. Ongteco has scored two goals this season and passed two assists for six points. She has taken 13 shots, seven being on target with one game-winner. Komani has scored two goals for four points. The London, England native has taken 17 shots with 11 bring on target. 

Between the posts for the Tigers in Tabitha Weldon (5-2-1). She has allowed only four goals this season, and has recorded a total of 31 saves with five shutouts in the eight matches played. 

Auburn Montgomery comes to Livingston with a 4-5 overall record and 2-4 in GSC play.

Mayson Jaindl leads the Warhawks with four goals and one assist for nine points. She has taken 22 shots with 11 being on target. 

The Warhawks' goalie Karla Gaytan (4-5) has allowed 17 goals and has recorded 64 saves with two shutouts in her nine matches played. 

Montevallo heads into the weekend with a 5-5 overall record and are 2-4 in the conference. 

Forward Kira Bochard leads the Falcons' offense with seven goals and one assist for 15 points. She has taken 11 shots with nine being on goal, and has recorded two game-winners. 

The Falcons' goalies are Angel Hailey (2-2-1) and Annie Mason (3-1). Hailey has allowed three goals and has recorded 16 saves in her six matches played. Mason has allowed one goal and has recorded five saves in the four matches she has played in.

There are no tickets required or admission charges for soccer matches. 

Masks are not required at outdoor venues including Tiger Stadium, but fans are encouraged to wear masks while not actively eating or drinking.
