Tennis Wins Two GSC Fall Individual Championships

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The University of West Alabama Tennis teams won two Gulf South Conference Fall Individual Championships in doubles matches in Montgomery, Ala. on Sunday, Oct. 24th. Lucas Hammond and Marcel Hornung defeated Delta State, while Heden Ly and Hardija Vidnere beat Christian Brothers. 
 
Singles and doubles teams that won the main draw are considered GSC Fall Individual Champions. 
 
Hammond and Hornung defeated Come Bracaval and Hugo Stroppiana from DSU. In the first set, the Statesmen duo was able to win 7-6. The Tiger duo battled back and won the second set 6-4 and the third set 10-6 to win the men's GSC Fall Doubles Championship. 
 
On the women's side, the Tigers faced Raquel Amaro and Maud Vandeputte from CBU. The Tiger duo were able to defeat the pair from CBU 6-4 and win the women's GSC Fall Doubles Championship. 
 
Valeria Arevalo defeated Lea-Alessandra Mazzella from Auburn-Montgomery in three sets to win her draw. 
 
Loic Danze defeated Jules Dugue from Montevallo in three sets to win his draw.
