Tiger Tennis Continues Top 25 Trail

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Both the men's and women's tennis teams from the University of West Alabama continue their trip down the NCAA Division II tennis top 25 trail by playing Southwest Baptist Thursday afternoon in a neutral site match at the AUM Tennis Complex on the campus of Auburn University-Montgomery.
 
The matches are scheduled to get started at 2 p.m., but could start later if the courts need additional drying time. West Alabama's teams are scheduled to play SWB after the Bearcats meet AUM at 9 a.m. 
 
The Southwest Baptist women are ranked No. 7 nationally and are 8-3 overall, 7-3 at neutral sites. The Lady Bearcats have won four straight matches. West Alabama's women are ranked 16th in the country and are 5-2 after dropping a match to top-ranked Indianapolis on Tuesday in Pensacola, Florida. The Tigers are 1-1 on neutral courts.
 
UWA's men's team is 3-3 and ranked No. 22 following a loss to 4th-ranked Indianapolis on Tuesday, while Southwest Baptist is 5-6 and ranked 25th.  West Alabama is 0-1 at neutral sites. The Bearcats have split eight neutral site matches.
 
The West Alabama women don't play at home until AUM visits on April 1. The Tiger men return to the Vaughan Tennis Center on April 7 to host Shorter.
