Women’s Soccer Falls on the Road to MC in Semifinals

CLINTON, Miss. - Mississippi College knocked out the West Alabama women's soccer team, 2-1, in semifinals for the GSC Spring Championship Series Sunday afternoon in Clinton, bringing the Tigers spring season to an end.

The Choctaws got the scoring started late in the first half of the match. Erin Hederman scored at the 44:13 mark. She added another goal for Mississippi College at the 58:44 mark.

Paige Laidler scored the only goal for the Tigers at the 80:05 mark. Laidler had two shots and two shots on goal. This was the third goal of the season for the sophomore from Windsor, England.

The Choctaws out shot UWA, 13-6, and won the shots on goal battle, 7-6.

Tabitha Weldon recorded five saves in the match.

Three yellow cards and 15 fouls were called in the matchup as Mississippi College was called for 10 fouls and the Tigers called for five.
