Distance Runner Kibet Transfers to UWA

LIVINGSTON, Ala. - Dancan Kibet, a sophomore from Eldoret, Kenya, has transferred to the University of West Alabama to continue his collegiate career as a Tiger. Kibet is coming to UWA after spending a year at Missouri Southern State University.

Kibet comes to West Alabama with a personal best in the 5000-meter run with a time of 15:25.20. Kibet also adds depth to the track team with a personal best of 9:19.59 in the 3000-meter steeplechase.

At MSSU, Kibet posted four top-five finishes during the 2021 outdoor season between the 5000-meter run and the 3000-meter steeplechase. In the 5000-meter run, Kibet placed fourth at both the Emporia State Relays and the 13th Annual David Suenram Gorilla Classic. In the 3000-meter steeplechase, he finished second at both the UCM Mule Relays and at Pittsburg State University Tune-Up.
