Box Score COLUMBUS, Ga. – West Alabama women's soccer team defeated Rollins College at the CSU Invitational season opener, 1-0, Friday evening in Columbus, Georgia.

Graeme Orr said. "It was tough conditions against a top opponent. We had to battle hard but delighted to get the win! We will review the game tomorrow and go again Sunday," Orr said.
Rollins College out shot the Tigers by a 14-3 margin and won the shot on goal battle, 3-0, but the Tigers kept fighting and captured the lead when
Megan Ongteco scored her first goal of the season at the 85:02 mark.
Tabitha Weldon displayed a strong defensive performance and recorded five saves in the victory over Rollins.
There was one yellow card and 12 fouls called in the matchup as Rollins was called for seven and UWA called for five.

Next up for the Tigers is University of Tampa. UWA and the Spartans battle Sunday at 8 a.m at the CSU Invitational in Columbus, Georgia.
