Cross Country Wraps Up Regular Season at UAH Invitational

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - West Alabama men's cross country team wrapped up the 2022 regular season with a 29th place finish at the UAH Invitational hosted by Alabama Huntsville at John Hunt Park.

Audrick Pyronneau led the way for UWA and placed 102nd out of 470 runners. Pyronneau stopped the clock at 25:07.70.

There were 48 teams in the 8K event. Wingate won the meet with two runners finishing in the top-ten. Lee was second, followed by Charleston in third, Illinois-Springfield in third, Alabama Huntsville in fourth, and Embry-Riddle rounding out the top-five.

The UWA women' cross country team had four runners compete in the 5K race. Faith Jepchirchir was the first Tiger to come across the line with a time of 20:01.50.

There were 396 runners and 44 teams in the women's 5K race. Cedarville won the race on the women's side. Wingate was second, followed by Lee in third, Charleston, in fourth, and Lewis rounding out the top-five.

Next up for the Tigers, both men's and women's cross country teams will compete at the Gulf South Conference Championship meet on Nov. 5. at the Cross Country Course in Montevallo, Alabama.
