Women’s Hoops Set to Host West Georgia on Saturday

LIVINGSTON, Ala. - West Alabama women's basketball team is set to host West Georgia in a Gulf South Conference matchup on Saturday, Feb. 12. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. inside Pruitt Hall Gymnasium. 

The Tigers are 13-8 overall and 7-6 in GSC play. The Wolves come to Livingston with an 8-11 overall record and are 5-9 in the conference. 

Tazsa Garrett-Hammett is leading the Tigers offense with 16.8 points per game. This ranks the senior forward fifth in the GSC in scoring. She also brings down 6.8 rebounds per game, ranking her 13th in the conference.

Bria Dent leads UWA in rebounds with 10.2 rebounds per game, ranking her second in the GSC. The Birmingham, Ala. native is also averaging 15 points per game, ranking her 10th in the conference in scoring. The junior guard is sixth in the conference for steals, leading the Tigers with 40. 

UWG guard Siera Carter leads the Wolves' offense with 16.6 points per game and 5.9 rebounds per game.

There will be no admission charge for the game. Fans are encouraged to social distance. Doors will open one hour before tip-off.
