Tigers Face Union on the Road in GSC Matchup on Saturday

LIVINGSTON, Ala. - West Alabama women's basketball team is set to face Union in a Gulf South Conference matchup on Saturday at Fred Delay Gymnasium in Jackson, Tenn. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.

The Tigers head into the game with a 15-8 overall record and are 9-6 in GSC play. The Bulldogs are 20-2 on the season and are 15-0 in the conference.

This is the 21st meeting between the Tigers and the Bulldogs. Union leads the series 19-2. The first matchup was in January 2013 when Union defeated UWA 74-69. The latest meeting was in January 2021 when the Bulldogs pushed past the Tigers 58-48.

Leading the Tigers offense is Tazsa Garrett-Hammett with 16.9 points per game, ranking her fifth in the conference in scoring. The senior forward is also averaging 6.8 rebounds per game.

Bria Dent is averaging 10.1 rebounds per game, ranking her second in the GSC in rebounds. The junior guard also averages 14.5 points per game, ranking her 11th in scoring.

Union guard Shanique Lucas is averaging 18.4 points per game and 5.8 rebounds per game, leading the Bulldogs offense.

According to uuathletics.com, tickets are required for the game against Union. Tickets can be purchased here or at the gym. General admission is $7. Doors open one hour prior to the contest.

Concessions will be available. No outside food or beverage is permitted inside the facility. No pets are allowed inside the facility.
