Match Recap: #5 Women's Tennis |

Tigers Finish Fourth Place in ITA National Women's Team Indoor Championships

EDMOND, Okla. – No. 6 West Alabama women's tennis fell 4-0 against No. 2 Indianapolis Monday morning at the Edmond Center Court in the third-place match of the 2022 ITA Division II Women's National Team Indoor Championships. 
 
The Tigers fall to 4-3 on the season and Indianapolis improves to 6-1
 
Heden Ly and Hardija Vidnere won in doubles against Maissane Aik and Mariia Solnyshkina 6-3 however, UI won the other two doubles matches which allowed them to pick up the doubles point. 
 
In singles, Haina Franco won her first set 6-4 and was losing the second set 1-5 when UI won the match. 
 
Katia de la Garza won her first set 6-1 and lost the second 6-7 when the match was over. 
 
The Tigers finish the 2022 ITA Division II Women's National Team Indoor Championships in fourth place.
 
UWA will be back on the road Thursday at the University of New Orleans at 2 p.m.
