UWA Tennis To Face VSU in Pensacola

PENSACOLA, Fla. – West Alabama and Valdosta State will play against each other in a Gulf South Conference tennis match at the Ralph "Skeeter" Carson Tennis Complex on Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m.

The Tiger men enter the match with a 7-5 overall record and 4-1 in conference play. The UWA women are 11-4 and 6-0. The men are ranked No. 29 in the latest ITA Rankings and the women are No. 11.

The VSU Men are 8-4 overall and 4-1 in GSC play. The Blazer women are 5-8 and 4-1 in conference.

On the men's side, Loic Danze has a record in singles of 8-1. Lucas Hammond has won three straight singles matches. Ilari Vesanen is 7-3 in singles play.

Valdosta State came in the latest ITA rankings at No. 7. Rodrigo Carvalho is on a win streak of four in a row at singles.

On the women's side, Katia de la Garza has a 10-0 record in singles play, while Haina Franco is 10-1 in singles.

Valdosta State's Adriana Barrio has won five conference matches in a row in singles play.
