Men’s Tennis Season Ends Against UWF in GSC Semifinals

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – West Alabama men's tennis lost a hard-fought match in the Gulf South Conference Semifinals 4-2 at Lagoon Park against 11th ranked West Florida. 
 
The Tigers finish the season with a 10-10 record while the Argos move to 19-6 and will play for a chance to win the GSC Tournament Championship on Saturday. 
 
"This team has made a ton of progress this season and we pushed a one seed to the limit and now we need to take something from this match and take it a step farther next season," head tennis coach Jeff Beaman said. 
 
The Tigers struck early winning the doubles point at courts one and three. 
 
Loic Danze improved to 15-2 in singles play with a win at court five against Salvador Bandeira 6-4, 6-2. 
 
The Tigers held a 2-0 lead before UWF won four straight singles courts to claim the victory 4-2.
