Women's Soccer Opens GSC Play Against SHC, Kickoff Moved up to 1 P.M.

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – West Alabama women's soccer is set to take on Spring Hill in the first Gulf South Conference matchup of the 2022 season at Tiger Stadium on Friday afternoon. Kickoff has been moved up to 1 p.m. due to potential weather. 
 
The Tigers bring in a 1-2 record into conference play. The Badgers have a 0-3 overall record. 
 
West Alabama has had seven different players strike a goal this season. Midfielder Selis Demirci leads UWA with two assists. 
 
Maria Mon is the Tigers goalkeeper, and she has collected 14 saves in 225 minutes played. 
 
Spring Hill's Haven Nail has scored the only goal of the season for the Badgers in a 3-1 loss against Thomas University. 
 
Carlotta Stark has 16 saves for SHC and has played 270 minutes. 

The Tigers own a 6-0-1 record against the Badgers and defeated Spring Hill 3-1 during the 2021 season in Mobile, Alabama. The win over the Badgers was Graeme Orr's 100th win as the UWA head coach. 
 
Following the Spring Hill contest, West Alabama will welcome West Florida to Tiger Stadium on Sunday at 1 p.m. in a GSC game.

West Florida is led by Blair Cowan who has scored three goals for the Argos. Midfielder Brianna Pope has found the back of the net twice. 

Maciah Lipsey has collected 10 saves for West Florida and has played 234 minutes. 

The Tigers and West Florida last played in 2019 and the Argos beat the Tigers 3-1 in the 2019 GSC Tournament.
