Men’s Tennis Defeat No. 14 Ouachita Baptist

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – West Alabama men's tennis defeats No. 14 Ouachita Baptist University 4-1 Friday afternoon at Ward Tennis Complex in a non-conference match.

"I like how the men competed today," head coach Jeff Beaman said. "This is a good team, and we had several matches go three sets where we easily could have lost, but the guys stayed tough and came through. Another tough match coming up at Southern Arkansas University for the guys Sunday."

With the win, the Tigers improve to a 2-2 overall.

In singles play, the Tigers took the lead quickly after Loic Danze won the first singles of the day 6-1, 6-2. With a 2-0 lead, OBU fought back taking a win on court 2. llari Vesanen gave the Tigers the third point on court 1, following Wilson Igbinovia clinched the match for the Tigers on court 4.

The Tigers came out strong in doubles winning No. 2 and No. 3 courts quickly. Lucas Hammond and Marcel Hornung went unfinished on No. 1 court.
