LIVINGSTON, Ala. – West Alabama women's tennis team won its match against Columbus State 5-2 at Vaughan Tennis Complex.
"This was a big win for the women against No. 7 Columbus State," head coach Jeff Beaman said. "With the two matches we lost due to injuries we need to focus on getting healthy for Wyoming next Thursday."
In doubles play, UWA won two of the three courts, claiming the doubles point.
Haina Franco, Heden Ly, and Ming Deewajee all swept their sets to claim three points for the Tigers, giving UWA a 4-0 lead. Yurie Takanishi took set one 7-6 then dropped set two 7-6 but came back with a 7-6 victory in the third set to claim the fifth point for the Tigers.

The Tigers will be back on the court on Feb. 9 against Wyoming. First serve is set for 2 p.m.
